While out shopping at a local mall with his girlfriend, Elisjsha Dicken had to make an instant decision when some whack job opened fire with a rifle on a crowd of innocent people. Shooting into the food court this maniac ended up discharging a total of 24 rounds. Three people ended up dying and two other were wounded before this nightmare ended. Within fifteen seconds of hearing shots fired Dicken moved in. Pushing his girlfriend out of the way and telling her to stay down, he drew his legally carried concealed Glock 19. Motioning people to stay behind him, he quickly moved in and engaged the shooter. From a distance of forty yards he fired ten rounds, scoring eight hits on the attacker. The assailant tried to retreat into the restrooms but was wounded too seriously and instead retreated to his grave.

Many more people would have died last night if not for a responsible armed citizen that took action very quickly within the first two minutes of the shooting

Nice shooting Mr. Dicken!

After the incident Dicken approached mall security and identified himself as the person who neutralized the shooter and waited for police to arrive. Dicken was then interviewed at the local police station where his account of the event matched video surveillance footage. “Because we want to respect the ongoing criminal investigation by the Greenwood Police Department and take time to honor the three innocent lives lost, we won’t be making any substantive comments on Sunday’s events until after the authorities’ investigation is closed,” attorney Guy A. Relford said in a statement.

He’s a young man processing a lot. I ask that you give him space and time to be able to process what he’s gone through.

Surprisingly I found this story on CNN. Normally they do not like to write stories about men actually being men and standing up to the thugs of the world. I suppose once in a while they have to just so they can claim to be unbiased with a straight face. CNN like other "mainstream" media channels makes it a habit to push their gun control agenda as a way of solving these kinds of problems, and this article is no exception. The entire bottom half of this article is filled with warnings about how an armed citizen can create confusion and chaos and comes with "dire risks", going so far as to point out a study published by the New York Times on the issue. I am sure both of the existing Times subscribers read it.

Meanwhile the Center for Disease Control has acknowledged a study that shows between 500,000 and 3 million annual self defense uses of a firearm and in most of those no shots are fired. A 2021 study by Georgetown University puts that number at 1.6 million times per year. CNN and others choose to ignore the data in an effort to push the liberal agenda that only government can solve a problem even in the face of stories like this and another similar story that happened in the same week which I have already written about.

Freedom is not free. And there is always a risk when you stand up for what is right. Mr. Dicken and Mr. Perry understand that, the main stream media does not.
